 Ubirajara Araujo

Ubirajara Araujo is currently R&D Technical Manager for Hospital Market at 3M. He has served as a Senior Project and Technical Manager in different areas of 3M such as Health Care, Industrial, and Display and Graphics business. His activities are customer focused and include market, competitive and investment analysis. His role maintains a strong relation with interfacial areas - marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing, purchase, compliance . Ubirajara performs Six Sigma Black Belt projects with customers, suppliers and inside the corporation and in a wide variety of businesses involving finance, manufacturing, and laboratory. Ubirajara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Master's Degree in Physical Chemistry, and MBA from UNICAMP.

Sergio Carvalho

Dr. Carvalho is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Rowe School of Business, Dalhousie University in Canada. He received his Ph.D. in Business/Marketing from Baruch College/The Graduate School of the City University of New York, his MBA in Finance from Northeastern University, and his BBA from the University of Fortaleza, Brazil. In addition, he completed two Post Graduate Diplomas – in International Business at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in France and in Finance at FGV-Fundacao Getulio Vargas in Brazil. As a university instructor at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, Dr. Carvalho has taught courses in a range of marketing disciplines, focusing on consumer behavior, consumer research, new product planning and development, and business strategy (international and domestic.) He has taught in the US, Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Israel and Brazil. His efforts as an instructor were recognized with one of the two most prestigious teaching awards given by the University of Manitoba, The Olive Beatrice Stanton Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2009. In addition, he received the Asper School of Business Associates Award for Excellence in teaching in 2011, and the University of Manitoba-UMFA Merit Award for teaching for four consecutive years (2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010) and for a combination of teaching, research and service in 2011. In the USA, he was nominated for the 2003 Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Teaching and received the 2004 Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award both at Baruch College, The City University of New York.


Leo Castellanos

Leo is an Investment Director at Saatchinvest in London.  At Saatchinvest, he runs the fund and gets involved in the deal making and terms stage of every investment. 

He is also a Founder and director of ComparaBem (ComparaBem), a financial aggregator in LatinAmerica (live in 6 countries) helping people save time and money when looking for credit cards, mortgages, insurance and telecomm home products.  Before this he launched and ran The London City Incubator a virtual incubator for City University London (targeting Cleantech, Medical Devices and Digital Media) as well as being the founder of The Hangout an innovation hub where talent meets tech in the heart of Tech City/Silicon Roundabout in London.

Leo holds an Executive MBA (distinction) from Cass Business School specialising in finance and strategy and qualified as accountant with the BIG 4 professional services firms with whom he spent over nine years as a financial and business consultant.  Leo was born and raised in Caracas and is now a globetrotting Londoner travelling recurrently to Brazil and the rest of Latam. 


Larissa Carolina de Almeida Marco

Larissa Carolina de Almeida Marco works at Coordenadoria de Planejamento da Secretaria de Planejamento, Orçamento e Gestão of the City of São Paulo. She holds a technical degree in Management of Cultural Affairs and a degree in Public Policy Management from the University of São Paulo (USP).

She was the coordinator for the Global Idea to Product Competition in 2013 and coordinator for the Idea to Product Latin America Competition in 2012 and 2013 and advisor for Latin Moot Corp Investment Competition in 2012 and 2013. Larissa served as judge in various competitions, including the 2014 UNESP Inovação.



Roberta Brayner

Roberta Brayner (age 41 French/Brasilian) is an Associate Professor with Habilitation à Diriger de Recherches (HDR) at ITODYS Laboratory, Paris Diderot (Paris 7) Universityhas and expert for ANR Blanche, ANR PNano, ANR Jeunes Chercheurs since 2008. She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals, 8 chapters and a book edition (Springer) (h-index 18, sum of the times cited = 1416). Her major interest is in nanoscience, nanobiotechnology and hybrid materials. She developed new emerging fields based on (i) hybrid materials based on alginate, (ii) bio-controlled synthesis of nanoparticles using microalgae, (iii) toxicological impact of nanoparticles on microorganisms and (iv) synthesis and characterization of metallic nanoparticles, oxides and sulfides using the Polyol process. These advanced materials can be applied in therapeutics, optical, catalytic and magnetic fields.

She is a consultant in several areas and in several institutions in Brazil. She has given 14 invited conferences.

Tim Meldrum



Tim Meldrum

Tim Meldrum manages the Enterprise Education team within Enterprise Office at City University London, developing and delivering learning programmes in entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation across the university. He recently helped launch the London City Incubator, training student interns to conduct commercialisation consultancy on live technology projects.  Tim also led the development of commercialisation processes at City to best-practise standards. Tim spent seven years at Imperial College London, latterly running the Entrepreneurship Centre (ranked in the FT MBA global top 10 from 2003-2011). His BA is from University of Nottingham, his MSc (Econ.) and PhD from LSE, and his MBA from Imperial in 2001. Many moons ago he co-founded several theatre-in-education companies, and has a number of publications in social and economic history. In 2011 he sat on the judging panel at the Idea to Product Global competition for university technology commercialisation in Stockholm, and at Tech Entrepreneurs Week in London.

Patrizia Parenti

Patrizia Parenti is a Commercial Director at Makesys Fábrica de Software, Consultant and Lecturer in Innovation and teaches Innovation and Project Management. Her previous career was at Citibank, IBM and Microsoft. Patrizia holds three Master's degrees (pós-graduações): in Psychology from Instituto Pichon-Riviere, in Balanced Scorecard at Insper, and in Innovation, Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship at FGV.  Patrizia Parenti graduated in Business Administration from Mackenzie University, Sao Paulo.
