At Grupo Boticário, beauty is what we do every day. The creation of knowledge and opportunities is in our DNA. Our vision is to become the reference for beauty within the industry. We currently manage four business lines– O Boticário, Eudora, quem disse, berenice? and The Beauty Box – and we are responsible for maintaining the Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza (Grupo Boticário Nature Protection Foundation).
Constant innovation is one of our goals as well as one of our differentiating qualities. Proof of this can be seen in the products launched within the business lines in 2012; a record-breaking 1,600 items were launched, of which 500 were developed exclusively for initiating operations for the brand quem disse, berenice?
This enterprising vocation for innovation is not a novelty in the organization. The greatest indicator for our innovative vein is O Boticário’s business line, which in 2006, became the first Brazilian cosmetics company to apply nanotechnology in anti-aging products, which allows for the direct delivery of the product’s active components to the skin’s layers.
This constant innovation is one of the main reasons why our research and development team has increased in 40% over the last few years with a structure that encompasses perfumery, cosmetics and personal care. As a support foundation for this growth, Grupo Boticário launched a modern Research and Development Center at the organization’s headquarters in São José dos Pinhais, just outside Curitiba (PR), in March 2013. Home to a R$ 37 million investment spread over an architecturally intelligent 8 thousand square meters, the enterprise has state-of-the art equipment and currently employs 230 professionals working in highly collaborative environments.
Always focused on the business unit’s end-user satisfaction, the Group is able to pour all of its high-end expertise in technology into the Research Center. Furthermore, the new space is also a center for improvement and sharing knowledge, filled with study rooms and with two libraries; one dedicated towards technological research and the other for fragrances, where 8 thousand samples can be maintained.
