The I2P® UT Austin Competition is dedicated to the memory of Amit Garg who died tragically in 2003. Amit was the President of the Technology Entrepreneurship Society and Director of the 2002 I2P® UT Austin Competition. His energy, spirit, and enthusiasm continue to shape and guide the Competition today.
Amit was a doctoral student in the Computer Sciences Department, College of Natural Sciences, University of Texas at Austin. Amit was a founding member of TES and joined with the goal of creating a yellow brick road to technology commercialization for what he called “ideapreneurs” at UT Austin. He is remembered by all that knew him at UT as: an outstanding student, a true entrepreneur, a strong ethical leader, and, most importantly, a good friend.
Amit Garg FellowshipIn the spirit of Amit's entrepreneurial enthusiasm, the Department of Computer Sciences and Amit's friends in the business, engineering, and student communities are working to endow a fellowship in his name. More information click here.
